Amsterdam – September 11, 2014: Spacecom (Tel Aviv Stock Exchange: SCC), operator of the AMOS satellite fleet, today announced that it has signed a long term agreement with Ukraine’s 1+1 Media, a leading media company, for the broadcast of its channels on the AMOS-6 satellite. From the 4°W prime orbital position, AMOS-6 will provide satellite broadcast services for 1+1 Media’s entire network over its Ku-band pan-European transponders.
1+1 Media is a leading Ukrainian multi-channel platform. AMOS-6, after its scheduled launch in 2015, will broadcast all the network’s channels throughout the Ukraine and Europe. The AMOS satellite fleet currently has a robust Ukrainian neighborhood including channels from the Inter Media Group, MTV Ukraine, STB and Xtra TV, the DTH operator.
“Utilizing the AMOS-6 platform will enable us to enlarge our business operations and open more business opportunities for our growing network,” said Yaroslav Pakholchuk, COO of 1+1 Media. “We are looking towards 2015 as a year of expansion and AMOS-6 will be an important part of our long term future.”
Jehuda Amir, Spacecom vice president, CIS sales, remarked, “The AMOS brand is delivering high quality service on powerful platforms around the globe and the addition of 1+1 Media further elevates AMOS in the Ukrainian market. With the scheduled launch of AMOS-6, we look forward to opening more business opportunities in Western as well as more sectors in Eastern and Central Europe.”
At 4°W, AMOS-6 will offer 39 Ku-band segments and 24 Ka-band beams to provide a wide array of services.  Larger and more powerful than AMOS-2 and AMOS-3 combined, also at the 4°W orbital position, AMOS-6 will have a 16 year scheduled life span, and expand territories under current service by adding Western Europe and multi-beam coverage over parts of Africa to existing Central and Eastern Europe and Middle East coverage.
